Roo's Pre-School Graduation

Ruthie's preschool, All About Kids had their graduation this morning. Forty 5-year-olds, each with the attention span of a miniature poodle and about as much neurotic energy. They had created their own mortar board hats from inverted plastic bowls tacked beneath a really sturdy cardboard top (I know this because as I knelt down to give Ruthie a congrats kiss, I got stabbed in the lip with the edge of it. Ow.). The level of restrained chaos in the room was most impressive. By the time I left, I was incredibly satisfied with my desk job again.

We were also treated to an outstanding musical performance by the class. They performed a song about a guy who kept trying to sit down to dinner, but each time he did, an animal would knock on the door and want to share. An elephant, gorilla, tiger (that one was Ruthie), bear, and whale all invited themselves to the poor guy's dinner. The last animal to knock at the door was an itty bitty caterpillar (played by an itty bitty 5-year-old looking more like an itty bitty burgler because of the nylon stocking thing yanked over his head) and when he took his place at the table, the whole house fell down. I'm still puzzling over the moral.

Team Gams for Mams 2004

OK, so this was almost a week ago, but it's finally showing up.

Felisha, Johannah, Anna, Buffy and Michael

Team "Gams for Mams" made its second appearance in the Komen Race for the Cure in Salt Lake City last Saturday. Gawd, there had to be a million people there this year!

We ran and walked the 5K in celebration of Nancy Williams and her 16 year survival of breast cancer (You Go Mom!!!).

Anti-procrastination Day Task

Flylady gets the credit for this first blog. If it weren't for her continued harassments flooding my inbox, I'd be aimlessly surfing the web yet one more day. Now, however, I can proudly check off the task "Anti-procrastination day" which waits for me each Wednesday.

And in true Flylady form, I am finishing this entry because I am done. Housework (or in this case, blogging) done incorrectly still blesses your family!

-- Edited to add that I am NOT being able to complete this task within the magical 15 minutes. I seem to be having issues with understanding the meaning of "upload file" and "publish post". Sigh.
