Shamrock bloom

The light sold me.

I knew the moment I walked into the kitchen ten years ago, that this was my house. The January sunlight was a tangible guest, touching every corner. By the time the realtor was escorting me out, I was already deciding where my sorry little shamrock would live.

Today, I'm grateful for the sunlight in my kitchen at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

Timer for Kitten a la King

"It's my turn!"

"No, you butt-nugget! It's MY turn!"

This evening, I'm more-than-you-can-possibly-understand grateful to whomever it was that invented the timer. Dividing each night into ten minute segments is the only thing that can keep the peace between my Earl-lovers.

Ninja Midol

'Nuff said.

Mom walking out the front door of Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers is to Buffy as Cheers is to Norm.

Not only am I grateful that my mother and I finally re-joined this evening, but also that everybody there still knows our names.

BOD bottles in the lab

For over a year I've worried about the certification audit the state is supposed to complete for our lab, and it turns out there was nothing to worry about. I'm thankful that the wonderful women who run our lab are so incredibly organized and on top of things that it makes even me look good.

Presbyterian organ pipes

Dvorak and Mendelsohn might have been rolling over in their graves tonight as we stumbled blindly through their works, but I'm still grateful that I'm part of the Chancel Choir.

Spilled antibiotics

To think I actually saved his life so many years ago, and how does he give me gratitude? He inserts his bacteria-laden fangs into my right hand and starts an infection quicker than you can say "Pinot, you nasty cat!"

Tonight I'm thankful that I listened to my fellow choristers (backed up by mom) and hightailed it to Instacare where I was given two freaking shots and a prescription for antibiotics.
