Luke in his Great Mask of Shielding

One of Luke's friends, Mac, had a party for his 10th birthday today.

I'm grateful for Mac's generous spirit. Mac asked that his friends donate the money they would have spent on a gift for him to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help kids with cancer. Is that an amazing kid, or what?

(Luke's face was painted red because he was the Red Bionicle, Tahu.)

Pat, Kellie and Luke around the dinner table

I'm grateful for my brother's gift of story-telling. It was lovely to sit back after a good dinner on a Friday night and let him entertain us.

Water coming off the carport's roof

It's melting! It's finally melting!

I'm grateful for the 40+ (°F) temperatures today that have resulted in some fast-moving meltwater. Spring can't come soon enough for me.

My very clean, never-worn-outdoors shoes for Curves workouts

I'm grateful that when I whined to Hart this afternoon that I didn't feel like working out, he gave me a kick in the butt instead of sympathy. He was right, I felt much better afterwards.

Incredible meal of garlic pork medallions with fresh snap peas served on paper plates

I know I wasn't going to post about food this year, but I'm breaking my vow. Tonight, I'm grateful that not only was the evening free to explore new recipes, but that the new recipes worked pretty nicely (and yes, these lovely pork medallions with garlic cloves sauteed in balsamic vinegar are presented on a paper plate. I am not Super Woman.).

Dee's fingers tickling the plastic ivories

Lately, I've been having to fill in as accompanist for the Chancel Choir. It's a task I'm happy to do, but it was certainly lovely to have Dee back with us this evening, so that I could take my old seat among the altos. I'm grateful that she chose to spend her Monday evening with us and in awe of her amazing sight-reading skills.

Drain in a shiny sink

Tonight I'm grateful that my kitchen sink is shiny once more. It's been a long time since I followed the FlyLady and I'm starting out with baby steps, but I'm going to do it again.
