Little green bug hanging out in the mint leaves

At first I was just going to be grateful that I actually have fresh mint growing and can garnish tall glasses of iced tea. But then, as I was taking this gratitude photo, I realized that there was a little creature hanging out in the midst of my mint. I'm grateful that he didn't end up being a little extra protein in my diet!

Hart and Blaine playing the first game on the new ping pong table

I'm grateful Hart has a cadre of friends that not only helped him set up, but also break in, his new ping-pong table tonight. If I can keep these guys over here long enough, I won't have to chase those little orange balls myself.

The prettiest rose in my rose garden

I adore this time of year because my peonies and roses in the front yard make even me, non-gardener extraordinare, look like I have a green thumb. The grass is still nice and green, the blooms are bright, and the weeds are camouflaged. I'm grateful the roses made it through the winter and gifted me with blooms.

Hart relaxing at the hotel

I love staying at nice hotels. I especially love staying at nice hotels without my children. I'm grateful that Grammy Nan and Grampa Bryan took our kids for an overnight stay, allowing Hart and I to travel south and spend some quality adult time together!

Mary, celebrating 06/06/06

Although it was probably disappointing to some folks back in Washington, I'm grateful the Apocalypse was put off another day.

Quin, drooling happily

The Junior Choir celebrated the end of the year with a pool party at the house of Dee and Inne tonight. There were loads of loud, laughing children and we parents sat far enough from the range of splashes to watch them play.

I'm grateful for the company of my church group of people. This baby's mother is brand new to our church and summed up her gratitude perfectly. She said, "I love this community. We were instantly welcomed and feel like we've always belonged." Yup, what she said.

Hart planting the tomatos

I'm grateful that Hart loves gardening. The peas have blossomed, the lettuce has been on our dinner table for the last couple weeks, the rows of corn stand about 4 inches tall, and now the tomatos and chile plants are in the ground.
